Building Bridges Because I’ve Seen the Gaps. A reflection on why Raíz y Elevar is rooted in action — in building bridges that close the gaps shaping tomorrow’s community. We guide and navigate this life together by sharing our stories. Our mission is simple: support one person, one family at a time, knowing that each step forward strengthens the whole.
It all started with my vulnerabilities and my determination-that stubborn, first‑generation drive to figure things out on my own. I paid attention. I took notice. And along the way, through years of volunteering, I discovered something important: I genuinely enjoy guiding others. There has always been a teacher within me, someone who finds joy in watching something or someone grow from the ground up. That’s where everything truly began.
Growing up as a proud first‑generation American, I learned early to pay attention. I noticed what was missing. I noticed the gaps.
As kids, we’re surrounded by support: teachers, counselors, coaches, adults who guide us through every step. But something shifts when we become adults. Suddenly, the world expects us to know how to keep up, how to organize our lives, how to advocate for ourselves, how to understand systems that were never designed with our families or our stories in mind.
That’s where the gaps live…
The gaps between our culture and the systems we’re navigating., the gaps between needing help and not knowing where to find it, the gaps between who we are and who we’re trying to become.
Life keeps evolving, and we’re expected to evolve with it. But without guidance, that evolution can feel overwhelming. Life will not stop, so we learn, we adapt, and we navigate as best we can.
And those gaps are exactly where my work began. I started building bridges — bridges that connect people to clarity, wellness education, confidence, and a smoother journey.
